Is Philips Airfryer best Air Fryer in India?

The first practical Airfryer was introduced by Philips in 2010 at the international IFA Consumer Electronics Exhibition in Berlin. Philips called this new type of Airfryer as 'Rapid Air technology' and patented the product. So in a way Philips can be credited with the invention of the modern Kitchen Air Fryers, even though the technology was actually invented by a Mr. Fred van der Weij who entered into a licensing agreement with Philips. Philips Air Fryer was introduced in the Indian market within a few years after its first appearance in the European markets in 2010. For a few years Airfryer Philips was the only AirFryer available in the Indian market, and so Airfryer Philips is still thought by many to be the best Air Fryer in India. Many other Air Fryers have since been introduced in India with better features like Halogen heating elements, rotating food tray, etc. but Airfryers from Philips still has the reputation as the best Air Fryer in India.

Different kinds of Air Fryers

There are mainly three types of Air Fryers:

1. Static Air Fryer in which the food stays stationary and the hot air circulates around it.
2. Dynamic Air Fryer in which the food is gently stirred by a rotating paddle while the hot air circulates around it.
3. Halogen Air Fryer has a special halogen light bulb as the heating element instead of the normal electric heating coils.
4. The Halo fryer, as it is commonly known, can be of either the static or dynamic type. The static type Halogen air fryer is also known as the Halogen Oven. The efficiency of the halogen heating element is supposed to be better than the regular heating coils, but I would say the difference cannot be much. One major advantage with the halogen air fryer is that with the bright light inside the cooking chamber and a transparent glass cover, the food being cooked inside can be seen very clearly and it helps in knowing the end point of cooking like how brown the food has turned.

What is special about Oster Halo Air Fryer

The Oster Halo is different from the normal Air fryers. Normal air fryers are of the static type, meaning the food is not moving during the air fry cooking. For example, when frying potato chips, the potato chips are not moving and stay one on top of the other, and this could result in the potato chips getting stuck together. The Oster Halo is a dynamic Air Fryer, the food is gently stirred while it is being air fried. The pan of the Oster Halo fryer rotates and with the paddle being fixed, it gently stirs the food while being air fried. This results in a more even cooking.
